Social Work, Community &
Employee Wellness

Our Social Work, Community & Employee Wellness services unit provides compassionate, practical support to help individuals and those around them navigate these challenges. Delivered by qualified and registered Social Workers, our services focus on strengthening wellbeing, rebuilding relationships, and connecting people with the support they need to move forward. We understandgambling-related harm extends beyond the individual. It can affect families, relationships, workplaces, schools, and entire communities.

Family & Vulnerable
Group Support

Healing relationships and providing practical coping strategies for those affected by a loved one’s gambling. Gambling struggles can place immense financial hardship and emotional strain on a household. Our social workers offer specialized counseling designed to help partners, children, the elderly, and extendedfamily members navigate these challenges.

  • Tailored Counseling: Age-appropriate therapeutic support specifically designed to address the unique needs of minors and elderly family members.
  • Coping & Recovery Tools: Practical guidance and healthy coping mechanisms to help families manage the emotional, financial, and social repercussions of problem gambling.
  • Safe Space: Confidential, supportive sessions to help de-escalate household conflict and rebuild strained relationships.

Minor Intervention
(School-Based Care)

Protecting the next generation through early intervention and targeted psychoeducation. During our Taking Risks Wisely Schools Programme, our team identified a growing trend of illegal underage gambling — ranging from traditional street games (Dice, Zwepe, Cherry Slots) to digital risks like online betting, gamification, and video game “loot boxes.”

  • We Do: SARGF Social Workers conduct early-intervention psychoeducation group counseling sessions directly in affected schools.
  • Our Goal: To educate minors on the psychological traps of gamified betting and equip them with the practical tools to resist peer pressure and gambling behaviors.

Employee Assistance Programme

Supporting workplaces to identify, address, and manage gambling-related distress. Problem gambling can quietly devastate productivity, workplace trust, and employee mental health. We partner with employers to provide dedicated support pathways:

  • Direct Referrals: A confidential pipeline for employers and HR managers to refer staff members who are showing signs offinancial or emotional distress due to gambling.
  • Workplace Wellness: Equipping corporate teams with the tools to recognize warning signs early, mitigate organizational risk, and offer constructive support.
